To get and stay healthy — you name it, I've tried it.

I am 32yrs old, originally from Brazil, a wife, and a stay–at–home mom of two very active boys. I’ve always been very active myself with the love for sports and outdoor activities. I want to start by admitting that I have tried everything to maintain my weight in the past ten years. You name it, I tried it.

I have taken most group classes available at my gym and worked with various trainers. At one point I even went along with the Master Cleanse, only to drop a bunch of weight within a week and come right back to my previous weight, if not a bit heavier. Nothing seemed to work for me.

It was at a good friend’s wedding in 2013 that I learned about Body By Monika. I contacted Monika and Coach J right away. At the time I couldn’t make the financial commitment. Had I known then that joining Body By Monika would change my life in every aspect, I wouldn’t have waited to join such an empowering community. It wasn’t until August 2014 that I made one of the best commitments of my life; A commitment to myself, my health, and well–being. A commitment that has shaken my world and has me questioning every day, “what’s next? What else can I accomplish for myself and my life?”

Right after I had my second child, I knew getting my body back would take some hard work. I joined a gym and on my own I lost 50lbs within 7 months. But accomplishing this left me wanting much bigger changes for my body. When I joined Body By Monika, I was burned out. I was tired of working out so hard at the gym and not seeing the results I wanted! I felt like a little hamster running on its toy wheel and never getting anywhere.

The first thing I learned as a bbm was Nutrition is key. I was never a junk food eater, but I was eating the wrong combinations and amounts of food. After sending my first week food log to Monika, she told me I had to eat more and gave me a nutritional guideline.

I thought she was crazy! How can someone lose weight by eating more?

Either way, I did as I was told. I also learned I needed to have a plan. Being able to check in with Monika and Coach J has kept me on that plan, kept me consistent and true to my commitment. Trust between a trainer and a client is one of the most important components for a successful transformation. I have entrusted Monika with my body and she has shown me nothing but amazing results.

What I didn’t know about Body By Monika was that the concepts — hard work, consistency and planning — I was applying into my fitness training would spill into the rest of my life, my relationships with family, friends and all those I have a connection with. Each day I gain confidence through my fitness and my results. I have been a stay home mom for 12 years; I love my kids, my husband and my life. I am very grateful for all that I have. But now that my kids are getting older and are becoming more independent, it’s time to invest in myself.

Finding out who I am for myself and the rest of the world is one of the hardest things I have ever faced.

Today I feel, see, and know that I am progressing my body and life towards what I am yet to find out.
